Cycle Elmbridge at Brooklands Community Park

With the Olympic Games Cycling Road Race and the Olympic Games Cycling Time Trial coming to Elmbridge as part of the London 2012 Games, cycling has never had so much exposure locally.

What better time to drag your bicycle out of the shed for a leisurely ride around the Borough or simply to get fitter before the summer arrives? Opportunities for cycling in Elmbridge are endless. From the serious cyclist to the rider just seeking a day out in beautiful surroundings, there are numerous cycle routes in Elmbridge of varying distances and levels of difficulty creating an enjoyable experience for all participants.

To also take advantage of Team Great Britain Bike Week 2011, All Elmbridge residents are invited to discover the simple pleasure and fun of cycling at the Cycle Elmbridge! Event on Saturday 25 June from 12.00 noon to 4.00 pm at Brooklands Community Park, Sopwith Drive, Weybridge KT13 0YU.

This event promoting cycling in our local parks and countryside will include many workshops and activities for families and individuals of all age groups, including:

  • Advice from local bike shops and cycle clubs
  • BMX displays at the skateboard park and professional advice on how to improve your BMX bike skills
  • ‘Fix Your Bike’ sessions with experienced bike mechanics (bring your own bike!)
  • Cycle safely - bike ability sessions,
  • Police Bike Marking
  • Cycle Ride around Brooklands Community Park
  • Fun competitions where prizes can be won
  • A raffle for the Mayor’s Charity.
